Happy 2010! We began the year with a big book distribution at the Oratorio community in Mauá, SP. A total of 400 books were distributed in the event held at a small branch library. Thank you for supporting us!
The event was held on Saturday, 9-Jan-10. We estimate that approximately 100 children showed up for the event that lasted for about 3 hours. One of our volunteers, Mariana Portella, said “It was priceless to see a happy child face when reading a book.”
Low income families in Brazil cannot afford to buy non-school books. Most of these children never had this kind of books at home. But we can tell you that they absolutely loved them. They wanted more books and they wanted to know when we would be back. You can view some pictures of the event
